Embattled Bernalillo County Chairman Fernando C. De Baca has resigned. Nearly a week after making controversial remarks to a BBC reporter at the NM State Fair, the 70-year-old former White House staffer has decided to step aside.
His resignation follows a morning news conference and community rally with 100 local African Americans leaders demanding his ouster. Rev. N.D. Smith Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church tells 770KKOB he's satisfied with C. de Baca's resignation.
