Senate candidates Republican Steve Pearce and Democrat Tom Udall sparred over their votes on the nation's financial troubles in their first debate in Albuquerque last night. Pearce criticized Udall for voting for a $200 billion bailout of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, while Udall said Pearce failed to support expanded unemployment benefits and a new economic stimulus package.
