On March 25, 2008 Senator Joe Carraro filed more than 900 signatures with the NM Secretary of State's office, and qualified for the GOP CD-1 primary election after being shut out at the party's pre-primary nominating convention by Bernalillo County Sheriff Darren White.Carraro says he has the experience to represent the district in Washington.
